Social Media

It may be something that we call a guilty pleasure, but many of us spend multiple hours a day using various social media platforms. I have an extensive knowledge and years of experience creating effective social media marketing design that is thumb-stopping and high-performing.

Yelp Mothers Day Reservation/Waitlist Social

The Brief: Create videos for our social channels to promote our Reservations and Waitlist features on Mother’s Day.

The Challenge: Consumers go to other apps to make reservations and are not educated on our digital waitlist product.

The Solution: Two social post with animations showcasing the product flow of how you can make reservations and join the waitlist through the Yelp app. The first, featuring Yelp’s reservations product, was posted two weeks before Mother’s day encouraging users to make reservations for Mom through Yelp. The second, featuring Yelp’s waitlist product, goes through how to add your name to a restaurants digital waitlist through the Yelp app.

Labs @ Light City - Conference Countdown

The Brief: Create posts to promote ticket sales for the Labs @ Light City conference (part of the Light City Art Festival)

The Challenge: As a festival and conference that was only in its second year of existence, not that many people had heard of it, which was leading to a decrease in ticket sales.

The Solution: A series of paid facebook posts that included countdown images to create excitement/urgency and a series of past attendee quotes to give potential guests a sense of how much others took away from the conference.

15 Years of Local Love Campaign - Social Content

The Brief: Create posts to support Yelp’s 15th anniversary cross-channel campaign (that included items in product, on local and national social, DR, CRM, PR, and internal in-office promotions).

The Challenge: 15 years in business isn’t nothing, especially in the San Francisco tech world. But brand anniversaries are a total snooze fest if all they do is roll out the birthday cake, make another interactive timeline, and just congratulate themselves.

The Solution: We worked with the data science team to uncover how many times people have used the words “love”, “amazing”, and “thanks” in reviews. We found out which businesses have been thanked most since 2004. And we found some incredible stories from users where they were eternally grateful to a local business. I created templates for local teams to post about their local data (aka. what is the most “thanked” businesses in Baltimore, MD.) and additionally created over 30 posts for our national social accounts that used our national data (aka what is the most “loved” business on Yelp in the US) .

Suspended Brewing Company Digital Items

The Brief: Create posts to promote various events, hiring, and the Suspended Brewing brand.

The Challenge: Craft brewing is very trendy at the moment and customers have a set of expectations when it comes to beer marketing.

The Solution: As a new brewery in an up-and-coming part of Baltimore, I wanted to make sure that their presence online was highly branded and looked as professional as possible. From my years of working in marketing for a food delivery app I knew that consumers respond well to highly curated food images, so I made it a point to set up a good chunk of time with the owners to do a shoot of their beers in their taproom. Utilizing the wood accents and green colors (featured heavily in the interior design of the taproom) in these posts would hopefully be familiar to anyone who has visited the space before, and ultimately lay the foundation of a strong brand on all their social channels.
